Yoga with Gemma Bush
I offer mixed ability yoga classes in Colchester and Maldon, Essex which are a fusion of my love for Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga, helping you nurture body, mind, and spirit.
Why Yoga
My dharma (purpose) lies in helping and caring for others by supporting them through their yoga experience and journey of healing & self-discovery.
It brings me joy to hold space and share this ancient practice, while bringing together a community of friendly and like-minded people.
Through sharing yoga I aim to empower my students, instilling positivity and self-belief, to make them aware of the wonderful things they can achieve on their mat and in their everyday lives.
Frequently
Asked Questions
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Hatha Yoga is practiced at a slower pace, with a focus on the breath and mindful movement. By slowing down it allows a more indepth exploration of each asana.
Vinyasa Yoga, also known as flow yoga, involves synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures. The fluid, almost dance-like movements increase flexibility, strength, and stamina.
Ashtanga Yoga is a rigorous and disciplined style of yoga that involves a specific sequence of postures linked together with breath. It's physically challenging, and builds strength, flexibility, and stamina.
No, you don't need to be flexible to practice yoga. With regular practice, you will gradually improve your flexibility, strength, and balance. My classes welcome practitioners of all levels, including beginners. With consistent practice, all is coming.
Wear something comfortable and breathable, which allows you to move freely. Opt for flexible, non-restrictive clothes, such as yoga pants or leggings and a fitted top. Avoid clothing that may hinder your movements or cause discomfort during yoga poses. Yoga is also best done bare-foot to avoid slipping.

"The perfect class for the mind and body. Gemma is such a fabulous yoga teacher: welcoming, smiley, calming and knowledgeable. I find her class compliments my crazy active lifestyle, and balances out the weight lifting i do in the gym. However most importantly this class has helped me mentally as stress and anxiety has always been a struggle of mine! Gemma' s yoga class resets my mind and I feel positive and ready to take on the working week xx Thanks Gem"
